3 perfect singles, such beautiful imagery and personal testimonies, MUSICALITY, varying BPMs (we get two bangerz?!?!), atmospheric, raw…. I could go on. The last time I cold listened to a Lana album, and ended it with multiple 10/10s and saves was NFR (my fav). Usually I like the album, and love a few songs, and then after re-listens I fall in love more. The album is just so well crafted, and ugh I could just go on and on about her musicality this time. She gives us something new on each track. The Baptiste interlude is so beautiful.
Top song from first listen through is Let The Light In. Just so powerful.
I’m not a huge fan of L4L (although I love many tracks from it), because of all of the features. I was worried this was going to end up being like that, but boy was I wrong.
I also love how much she pulls from her previous album. Venice Bitch sample. Re-used melodies i.e. Chemtrails melody inspires a line in Taco Truck too. Then “the feel”… I feel BB, ultraviolence, Honeymoon, and B2D in some songs. There’s probably more specific examples that I’ll discover with more listens. Not sure if I heard her mention the color blue. I feel like she always has at least one mention of that per album 😂
I am ascending into the clouds.
