Use this instead of kiln?

Have been going to this shop for a while for rentals and was told I should use this if Iโm not going to use the kiln I forgot to ask what exactly it is it feels like insulation of some sort idk how this effects the annealing process
New to lampwork and Iโm in the process of getting my own setup and donโt have a kiln at home yet
