Asked this in r/nba but: lebron not looking to get downhill?
Post Body

Was I the only one who noticed lebron was oddly not seeking chances to play downhill? Donโ€™t get me wrong - brooks is a fantastic defender and JJJ lurking is terrifying but itโ€™s also playoff basketball

What makes this confusing to me is that he looked pretty good physically w/ multiple chase down blocks, crashed the glass hard, and had the one huge dunk going coast to coast early

What do you all think? Was it just LeGame1? Could he physically not get downhill? Was he just deferring at points you would expect him to start?

Comments

I think he's probably being a bit cautious because of the foot. I also think he would have looked to score more on his own if Rui/Reaves/D'Lo weren't scoring much. Same with AD. Having role players producing allowed AD/LeBron to focus more on defense instead of having to score 30
