In hindsight, the mavericks loss wasn’t that important
Post Body

This sub was having a meltdown after the Mavericks loss, as at the time, it counted for more than one L in the schedule. Not only were the Mavs ahead of us in the standings, that game would have also clinched the tiebreaker with them, having massive implications for our climb up the standings. Now that the Mavs are the eleventh seed and it looking increasingly unlikely that we will be in a situation where they finish higher or tied with us, that loss just becomes like any other loss.

Edit: changed eleventh instead of tenth

You're right that it didn't end up being that consequential. A lot of people thought the season was over. It doesn't matter much since Dallas slipped hard, but it could have mattered if they were still keeping up with the play-in. I think the reason that game had everyone feeling down is because it felt like the pre-trade deadline team was back
