Anyone who uses Taqman probes, do you have a favorite design tool?
I've been using IDT's PrimerQuest, but it gave a few bum results recently. We're about to order a lot of Taqman probes and the boss asked me to look around at other things.
We're not willing to pay $$$$$ to use the paid tools, and Primer3 keeps spitting out GC rich awful things.
Anyone have a preference?
In case it's relevant, we study the splicing of a few genes. We have probes for one of them that work well where we have a forward in Exon 8 and a reverse in Exon 11, and we have probes for Exons 8, 9, 10, and 11. We can then measure total proteinX (exons 8 or 11) vs the variant (not having 9 or 10) vs full length (having 9 and 10).
