L4D2 is not Working

My left 4 dead 2 won’t work, I open the game only for nothing to happen and for it to close instantly. I’ve tried everything from uninstalling the game to going into the files and editing stuff there. I’ve watched 2 different 15min long YouTube videos nothing has worked. Any suggestions please help me. (My air conditioning is broken so I have a big fan that’s all the air blowing noises in the background)
