Kucoin Futures - Market buy vs limit buy, and the mystery of being filled

Post Body

Hey all, I have been Futures trading on Kucoin for a few months. Mostly DOT and ALGO. Some success and some failures. What I do not understand, and cannot find info online about, is why when I do a market order buy (long) I get filled at the last price, while the mark and index price is lower? I have put limit buy orders in and watched the index and mark price dance all over my order, but it only gets filled when the last price reaches my order (I think)? Does it have to do with the bid/ask spread? I see similar limit orders in the order book (which I hardly understand - been trying to research that too but having a hard time understanding it).

Any clarity/resources would be much appreciated!! Trade On!
