I've been trying to find this one song that plays in my store every once in a while. For the life of me, I can't get my Shazam to pick it up, even when using a long ladder to try and get close to the speaker (yes, I've done this and I even told my manager and she laughed.) It's a female singer and the song is low key and kind of quiet. All I can hear instrument-wise are drums and a guitar or sorts. The lyrics are tough to make out but it's either "Time rolls on" or "Life goes on" or maybe even "I'm so gone/done." The only other lyrics I can make out are "when you thing you're falling/going down" and "goes on and on and on" near the end. I don't even like the song but I gotta know what it is.
EDIT #2 - It's been a while and the song has since played a few times on different nights. I ended up calling the in-store audio network people and the guy there was able to send me a list of songs that played in my store on a specific date. I have it on good account that the song may be "Life Goes On" by Alice B. That being said, there's only so much I can find with just a last initial so the search is at a standstill. The guy told me he could send the song to me but I haven't received it yet. He also told me that the record label who distributed the song went out of business, which is telling me that it's an old song. I plan to call back on my next day off to see what can be done. I might even write a little short story about this whole thing, it might be interesting to someone. I also talked about it on my podcast and my friend got mad because I took away from his story time lol!
