So about a month ago I had to stop taking Kratom the way I normally do (toss n wash) because of some stomach issues. I moved to the strained Kratom tea which is certainly easier on my stomach, but I’m having a very difficult time trying to gauge dosing.
Prior to the tea, I was a daily user of about 12-15 grams of straight powder. I had planned to start tapering from that dose when the stomach issues started and now I find myself only able to use the strained tea.
Most of us know that immediate discontinuation of Kratom causes withdrawal similar to opiates. My issue now is that I’m making a daily batch of tea with about 28 grams of tea per batch, and any less is causing withdrawal. Going from the powder to the strained tea has effectively doubled the amount of Kratom I’m using. My real question is, how much Kratom am I actually consuming per day?
If I’m simmering 28 grams of Kratom for an hour @ 185 degrees, then straining the Kratom through muslin, how much Kratom is my body receiving relative to straight powder?
I will just say that I know this is a loaded question that doesn’t have a simple answer. I guess I’m looking for someone that might have some scientific facts regarding whether or not any of the alkaloids are absorbed from the water, or if I’m only effectively consuming whatever powder makes it through the straining cloth. So I guess that might fall under the umbrella of water solubility? I understand chemistry on the most basic level so anybody that has a better handle on it, I would love to hear from.
Any answers are appreciated!
