Anyone else get mouth numbing effects when it’s in tea form?

I’ve noticed that it doesn’t always do this, but sometimes kratom tea makes my mouth numb, almost like kava. I’ve never had this effect from dissolving it in something cold or room temperature, and it often seems to be an indicator of potency as well. Anyone know why this happens?
