What is something you wish non-fans would stop associating with your favourite group?

To put it simply - a word or a phrase that, from a non-fan, perspective is commonly associated with the group you stan. It could just be the phrase/word that's mentioned a lot.

For me I stan GOT7 and NCT Dream.

For GOT7 it would have to be "they're really funny", "they have great reality shows" (along those lines) - I know it seems petty and kind of stupid to get upset about this but I'm so over people outside of the fandom only viewing the boys as comedians and personalities. I get it, they are really funny, and I would say one of the funniest groups currently promoting but it sucks to see that being the only positive thing people speak about. I think for this one a lot of it comes from the fans (I'm not dissolving us of all the problems) - we need to make sure we're doing equal parts promoting their reality shows/personalities and equal parts raving about their music. I wait for the day that their music is praised before their humour.

For NCT Dream it would have to be "NCT127's little brother", "they're not big internationally, only in Korea" - This one I'm a bit nervous about because the NCT fandom is always a bit of a mess with all the inter-unit fighting but I really do hate these phrases. Again it may seem petty but when others have this view it just boxes the boys in and a lot of the time feels like people are intentionally restraining them to a modicum of the success NCT127 is experiencing. It also doesn't allow them to appear to other fans as their own unit within the group and almost appears lesser than or second rate. I saw someone comment this and it kind of stuck with me - it's like people see NCT 127 as the varsity team and NCT Dream as the second-rate junior varsity team. Yes they're younger but at this point all of them have debuted as idols for roughly the same amount of time. It would be like comparing Yugyeom (GOT7 debuted 2014) and Joy (Red Velvet debuted 2014) and just because Yugyeom's younger assuming talent wise he should be a step below. Idk I would like to hear other NCTzens thoughts on this and if I'm overthinking this a bit.

Please share away!

WayV is literally the newest group in NCT and they have very little content and history compared to the other groups. It’ll take time for them but they’ll get there. There is no use comparing them to the other NCT units
