I’m an army, maybe not as intense as i should be but i still support the boys with everything. The current fanwar on twitter seems to be because BlackPink’s new song may break BTS’ yt record, and army are upset because apparently there’s been some foul play involved with view count. I guess my question is why has everyone collectively agreed that YT has some weird vendetta against BTS? What reason would such a huge entity have to sabotage youtube views? It makes more sense to me that deleted views is the result of abnormal streaming behavior. To me, it seems apparent that blackpink has more local appeal as tons of celebrities have talked about it, and even my irls who know i like bts texted me to say they liked it. It’s not something i particularly care about, but its all just exhausting. I think all of the drama could solved if youtube introduces some sort of unique listener counter.

I'm pretty sure there are way less blinks than there are armies. When blinks stream, the impact is probably not as great as it is when armies stream. Hence, it's clearly more noticeable to Youtube because there are so many armies that seem like bots = more views deleted. Less blinks means they can probably get away with their streaming more easily. Also, way more people in the general public are watching Blackpink's comeback, and they will probably watch it like normal people & not streaming fans, hence those views won't be deleted. I can speak for myself — I'm by no means a blink at all, but I've casually watched the video at least 3 times in the last 24 hours at separate times because the visuals were kinda nice to find the ganesh statue lmao. My views are probably counted.
