If your song is a fun upbeat song or a energetic and fierce song, bare minimum: you should at least try to show some emotion while your lines are being sung/rapped.
Good performers are always visually engaged with the cameras or the audience, that’s what makes them fun to watch. When idols barely even try to look happy or whatever fits the concept, it hurts to see.
Edit: For those who are asking for examples: Mina, Jennie on Pink concepts, Lay, Irene on Red concepts, Chaeyoung lately (she honestly doesn't even look happy during her parts this comeback), and every single fancam of Yeonwoo I've seen she barely tried(not that it's her fault her stylists couldn't put her in outfits that actually fit), and a whole lot more that I forget about because that's what happens when you're a lacklustre performer, you get forgotten.

Yes! I'm tired of posts that say that idols can't sing/dance/perform when personally there are less than a handful of people that fully fit into those categories (and if they do, they clearly serve a purpose in other aspects, e.g. variety or visual). I would love for people to list who & WHY they think that way about those idols, so we can have genuine conversations about it.
