I saw a post saying Yangyang is the best rapper and it just got me curious how NCTzens would rank all the rappers in NCT/WayV (and hopefully provide reasons). For me personally:

Taeyong > Yangyang = Mark (maybe) > Jeno > Jisung > Lucas = Jaemin

1. Taeyong. His rap style is super polarizing and I happen to be one of the people who absolutely loves it. There’s something so different about it and it just doesn’t get boring. Also his adlibs are my favorite out of all the rappers; they just add a lot in my opinion. He sometimes gets clowned for his English lyrics but people have to keep in mind that he... doesn’t speak English. For idols that are English, it’s going to be easier to write bomb verses that include English because they speak it fluently, but they also speak Korean fluently so they’re at an advantage when it comes to including both languages in their verses. I’m actually impressed with his metaphors and English lyrics after taking into account that it’s a language he doesn’t speak. Also, I encourage people to check out his raps in No Manners and Super Car (from SuperM). Those two really solidified my opinion on his rapping.

2. Yangyang. This boy blew me out of the water. His tone is just so pleasant, like I just want to hear it all day. I feel like he also sounds bouncy (?) like he can play with his tone and flow well. It’s also higher pitched, which we don’t hear as often because in the idol world they usually force the lower voices to be rappers, but his higher pitched tone is a nice break from all the constant deep voices.

3. Mark. I know he’s a good rapper and I love most of his verses, but his voice is more generic than the first two which is why it’s lower for me. He does have a ton of iconic verses though and they’re often really impressive. I have him equal to Yangyang but Yangyang really impressed me this comeback and Mark’s rapping hasn’t impressed me as much lately so I’m not sure if I would put him equal or lower.

4. Jeno. He’s good, but he’s just not as good as the top 3 for me. Maybe it’s from lack of opportunities. I’ve noticed Dream songs tend to have less impactful rap verses because they are typically more vocal based, so that could be a contributing factor.

5. Jisung. Love his tone, but again, I just don’t think he’s as good as the top 4. He’s moving more into vocals anyway, so it doesn’t really matter much because he has such a beautiful, deep singing voice.

6. Lucas and Jaemin. They don’t really stand out to me. Jaemin would’ve been higher than Lucas for me but Lucas impressed me more this WayV comeback on the album so I’m putting them on the same level.

I’m not really sure where to put Hendery in all this so if anyone would like to add him to theirs feel free. I just honestly have no clue where I would put him and I think I need to listen to the new album again before making an informed decision about him because I haven’t fully formulated an opinion yet.
