Like... I'm Shakespeare yall. It's so freaking cool.

You just take the cadence of the original lyrics and try to find a suitable sentence that fits into the meaning and into the cadence. And sothst you don't sound like a translation, you need to imagine yourself in the scenario of the person in the lyrics. What person comes to your mind? What actions? What kind of environment is you character in? You need to build its own universe, and let a story play out in your brain, and then wrote lyrics in coordination with the story.

And its so pretty to see what you're mind comes up with. Like, I never knee I could actually write love songs??? Uhm- I've never actually been in love love before, wdym I just wrote "darling aint it so, that you love me and i love you" HELLO GIRLLLL???

Anyways- the real shocker was when I tried to do thr reverse. Take English or non-Korean sings and start writing Korean lyrics. Now I'm not a native speaker but I just did this to test my knowledge (I do consider myself pretty good in Korean though)

But funnily enough, when I wrote lyrics in Korean, I often stray away from the original meaning. It basically only had fragments of the OG meaning or lyrics, but they had a totally different story. I was trying to write somewhat of an 80s version of IVE's Love Dive - basically with pure Korean lyrics and because I had been listening to the english demo by the super talented Sophia Brennan so much, the "toxic relationship" theme stuck to me more than the "innocent and confident love" lyrics in the IVE version. So I kinda oriented myself with that and built my own mental image of what a toxic relationship could have been in the Korean 80s. And that knowledge? Came from watching 80s and 90s dramas, unsubbed, in 15 parts per episode, 30 something episodes in total, on MBC's old drama channel on YT.

And so many times, I'll think of a certain celebrity or person. Someone who in my opinion would relate. If I could sing a song for that person I would sing this. It just helps me to immerse and write lol.

But yeah - that part has taken over me. It's come to the point where I can "hear" a Korean word in an English song just by the cadence. For example, "Don't ever let go" can easily be "놓치지말고" or "I think you know" can be "알잖아요". Anyways... I'll leave some little poetry by me down here lol :
