Fifty Fifty's profits were not paying off the members' debts and nobody is speaking about it so far
Post Body

The first episode of the documentary detailing Fifty Fifty's court case was released a couple of hours ago now, and it's confirmed something that I've been thinking was going on ever since they filed for financial transparency. Attrakt has been using all revenue from their activities to pay off unrelated debts, leaving the members with no less trainee debt than before. Obviously, the company would be well within their moral and legal rights to use their share of the revenue to pay off anything they wish, but the fact that they have not been allowing the members to pay off their trainee debts is disgusting.

Trainee debts are very common for groups not under the Big 3 ( Hybe), and are paid off depending on how quickly a group can make money - groups like Gfriend paid theirs off within 2 years, and groups like Oh My Girl have barely just finished paying. This is not what I'm angry about. Until this debt is paid, the members of Fifty Fifty cannot make any money from their schedules - how are they supposed to pay this debt when none of the money goes to them at all? Their money was going to the company to pay of advances unrelated to the group, meaning Fifty Fifty essentially would have to work much longer before they could even think about making a profit. You can absolutely have your own opinion on mistakes the members may have made, but please do the same for Attrakt.

(More and more is being revealed from the documentary, so I'm going to make a mini list here)

- An employee of Attrakt said the CEO's exact plan was to recieve his investments back then 'discontinue' the group after their first EP, which is a scumbag move. Keena trained for so long and had multiple part time jobs to support her dream, this behaviour is just cruel.

- A family member has revealed that due to all of the mistreatment, one member ran away from the agency, had multiple panic attacks and subsequently ended up in hospital after fainting

- The agency would allegedly throw out any and all food gifted to the members by family members while verbally abusing them, and would sometimes not allow them to eat at all during a day

- Not even Attrakt's employees know how much money was spent on Fifty Fifty, despite being entirely responsible for almost everything since the CEO was involved in name only. The 8 billion won they recieved has a massive chunk missing from what was spent on production, and the employees have no idea where it has gone or what it has been spent on. A tax accountant looked at the reports provided by Attrakt and has verified something is behind hidden from the records concerning where their money is being spent.

- All revenue has been filtered through a secondary company owned by the brother of the CEO of Attrakt, which was then used to pay off that company's debts. This is why the members have not recieved payment - if the money doesn't go to Attrakt, they are not contractually obliged to split the revenue as stated in the members' contracts.

- Aran wasn't the only member with health issues, and her surgery was actually supposed to take place before debut but she was forced to postpone it despite having to promote and take various medications leading up to it.

- The members were forced to have daily BMI checks, and were followed by a manager (who also LIVED WITH THEM) and monitored 24/7 by CCTV surveillance, to the point where they felt like they were being 'imprisoned' and couldn't take another 7 years of this treatment

- The members' debt just kept increasing, their revenue sheets only had expenses (such as food and housing) and no income from any music or performance related events, due to Attrakt's shady income methods

I really recommend checking out this article, although it isn't the source for much of the information I have shared, it deals more with the confusion of the employees over the investment and the legal intentions of the members' lawyers: https://t.co/GKByfvY4FC

The more I am translating of this documentary, the more horrible treatment from Attrakt I am noticing. The members have quite literally said they would rather give up on their dreams and never sing again rather than go back to the abuse of their company. This situation is heartbreaking.
