So, I just saw a post of someone basically saying the likely hood of Blackpink coming back this year as a group is next to none due to no official news of a CB and how it’s near the end of the year and all the comments were like ‘how dare yg do this’ or ‘why can’t Blackpink have a comeback a year it should be in their contracts’. And to some extent I agree with these comments, as they are a music group and should be making music but people are always quick to forget how big these girls are! They are bigger then your average kpop group! They are not constrained to the same rules as other kpop groups who actually in some cases need to have regular comebacks. And yes the argument would first and foremost these girls are idols it is their job but Blackpink as a brand is so much bigger then what you want them to give. It sucks because it’s unconventional and some say unfair but YG is trying to bring a western approach to releasing music it seems, the intention could be for longevity with minimal work? Money? Who knows but blinks and fellow stans who pity the situation need to realise Blackpink aren’t just ‘idols’ or ‘ig models’ they are now worldwide celebrities. Sorry if this sounds disjointed this is a literal rant, feel free to add points or to counter my argument :)
