To preface this- I’m not a Swiftie. I’ve heard a lot of her songs though, courtesy of my best friend.

So, a bunch of Swifties started shitting on BTS for their no. 1 on billboard. It was huge mistake on their part and it was absolutely unprovoked. It got worse when Both BTS and Taylor got a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Both are well deserved nominations, even though I’m slightly partial towards Exile.

Obviously, this stirred up fan wars. While ARMYs are definitely the biggest fandom right now, Swifties aren’t that far behind.

ARMYs started attacking Taylor, and Swifties didn’t hold back either. Racist comments and slurs followed. ARMYs calling Taylor a “white bitch” and Swifties calling BTS “Ching Chong”. It was disgusting up until now, but a bunch of people began to undermine the effort Taylor has put into getting to the top. They began talking about white privilege and how Taylor had it easy. And sure, compared to BTS, it was slightly easier. But does anyone know about her sexual assault scandal? How she was literally hated off of social media? Her body image issues/her eating disorder? The way she lost rights to her own fucking music?

Moral of the story is, please don’t get over zealous and start hating.
