Been a fan for a decade now and am still confused by the leader position. In the past, they are usually assigned to the oldest member so they could be the main spokesperson for interviews, award shows, variety shows etc and handle the members.
I'm not sure who pioneered but I know GD was the leader since he was the main producer of BB.
In comparison to the corporate world the Team Lead or Manager usually handles their team and performance which I assume is similar to KPop but they get paid more given more workload and experience/skills
So I want to know, aside from exposure, what does the Leader get? I'm assuming they aren't paid more since the contracts are the same? They seem to have an extra responsibility of taking care of each member, voicing out their concerns to the staff/agency, spear heading song production/rehearsals/live performances, managing the members in public events, puttiing more effort in talking to the fans and policing them or calling them out and more. I believe there's so many other responsibilities given to the leader & surely it's rewarding but my gosh as a corporate slave I could never imagine doing all that and have equal pay lol
What are your thoughts?
