The physical stats on the medal if it helps: 3.7 inches up and down, 1.7 inches across on the medal, 1.35 inches across at the top where it pins, 1.3 ounces total weight. It's pretty standard for a military medal.
I've checked a lot of online directories of military medals regarding Korea (Kingdom era pre-Japan, Japan occupation, Korean war, and post-war) and none of them have this. The emblem in the middle is the Korean Marine emblem, of course.
The back is nondescript, no other markings than what is in the photo. It was given to me in '09-'10 by a group of Korean Marine officers that I helped with ESL study when I was stationed there. I hope my Hangul was okay, tried to remember the best I could. They never told me what it was for, just made a little mini ceremony out of giving it to me.
Edit: my previous link broke, sorry. Here is a working link
