I stumbled upon it when I was bored, and decided to watch this movie directed by Manoj Beedha, maybe 2 years ago, and I still remember this movie for it’s bold cinematography choices, dialogue writing, amazing, excellent performances and unique story. It has such a nice vibe, with even the music by Sam CS being carefully chosen, and has a very international feel. Even the trailer for this movie was cut like a work of art.
But I’ve not heard people mention this movie much, so am curious as to what others think.
I think it’s a shame though, that this director went and did Agent Kannayiram next, which was very run of the mill for me as it’s storytelling was not as good as the original Telugu version, and they replaced the original’s lead, who made that movie what it was. The cinematography was still good though, for both Vanjagar and Kannayiram. Maybe the director Manoj Beedha really focuses on that aspect.
Watch Vanjagar Ulagam if you have not seen it, though.
