I recently watched the movie and I liked how coherent the movie is compared to a lot of Tamil movies. It has a theme and a tone, and maintains it throughout without deviating. It almost felt like a Wong-Kar Wai movie in terms of how the theme is very gradually explored throughout the movie. This movie has good, detailed, individual scenes that could be their own short films, but is also good when taken as a whole, a balance which Tamil movies often struggle to achieve. Some reviews that I saw like BR, said there was a good concept but not explored deeply. But for me, I feel the director knows his audience and tailored the movie very well to suit them. Pradeep’s acting as well as the music, the minute attention to detail in the dialogues, and also the innovative ‘song sequences’ like the Instagram dream or the remix of the girlfriend’s voice as it keeps repeating in his head were so enjoyable too.
