I had the chance to visit Kolkata recently, and I must say, I fell in love with the city—the beauty, the vibrant culture, and the rich heritage it embodies. Being in India, one naturally expects a certain level of crowd and traffic wherever they go, but Kolkata's charm still stands out.
Coming from an agricultural background and working in agricultural marketing, I paid close attention to rural Bengal during my visit. What struck me was how much cleaner rural Bengal is compared to Kolkata. For a city with such a deep cultural legacy and historical significance, Kolkata should take more pride in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene. While the city's heritage and culture are unmatched, the state of its cleanliness is truly disappointing.
The people of Kolkata should recognize and honor the legacy they hold by ensuring their city is as clean as it is culturally rich.
