lmao. I had decided that my kodi Pi experience was turning to crap, and was going to quit using it. It was taking FOREVER to do anything, and it was so laggy I was embarrassed to even have the device in my home (lol). It was doing this thing where it would intermittently lose video signal, and then come back. Well today it started doing it in a forever loop of on/off etc. I figured that Raspberry Pi was just at the edge of its hardware, which was disappointing to me - I though no way a device with the specs of a Pi 4 wouldn't handle everything so poorly.
Eventually, it lost signal, and wouldn't come back on. THEN it wouldn't even boot. Tried a different pi, nothing, and through the SD into my PC - wouldn't even recognize it as ANYTHING. Inspected it, it was an old 16gb SD card from like 8 years ago lmao.
Reinstalled on a brand new SD card and holy smokes does this ever make a difference.
Had an HDD go on my old HP touchsmart today too lol.
