Looking to buy an ereader but kindle isnt good for canadians

here are the things I NEED and are non negotiable - I want to be able to mark my books (highlight & tab) - I want to be able to listen to audio books - the screen has to be easy on the eyes - I need to use libby but I heard that kindle wont allow you ? because im in canada?
negotiable/ waterproof
what do you think would be the best fit for me? i figure kindles will be the best bet as I love to read/listen to audio books but I can’t do that properly with my phone
