I recently upgraded from the Kindle Voyage to a Kobo Libra 2 and I’ve been very pleased with its performance so far. However yesterday I ran into my first hiccup while reading Heartstopper, which I obtained copies of from a friend and sideloaded onto my device. Around halfway through the second volume my device froze for the first time ever. I had to hit the power button and hold for a few long seconds, then it restarted and I was able to continue from where I left off. Then today the same thing happened again with another volume but this time I lost all my reading progress.
The only other time something slightly comparable happened is when I was reading an ebook with no graphics — every couple of pages (the book isn’t formatted correctly so there are no visible chapters, however chapters seem to be denoted by a blank page) the device takes a few seconds longer than usual to page turn, but I didn’t make much of it because assumed that the page is refreshing (I have it set to refresh every chapter). So now that this new glitch happened with the graphic novel I was reading I’m worried I have a faulty device… or is it possible that the copies I got are faulty or even that the Kobo Libra 2 isn’t great with graphic novels?
Appreciate any input on this!
