Should I buy a new Kobo Sage?
Post Body

Hi everyone, it's my first time posting here.

I got a Kobo Sage barely a month ago, on 5th February 2022 to be exact. I have enjoyed reading many books on it, I must have read at least a thousand pages worth of books, and even some manga as well. I did lots of research before deciding to get the Kobo Sage, compared to a Kindle or any of the other Kobo models.

However, today, I realised the screen is messed up, and it cannot be fixed, nor is it covered under warranty. It started with a few small horizontal lines on the side, then gradually covered over half the screen :(

I did not drop my device at all, but I mostly just leave it in my backpack and maybe that's what caused the damage. I thought a Kobo would be a good rough and tumble device but I guess it is not.

I have the Kobo Sage Power Cover as well as the Kobo Stylus to accompany my Sage. That's why I was thinking if I should just get a new Kobo sage as I've enjoyed using it, and I have the accompanying accessories. I'll definitely get a screen protector for the new Sage.

Anyway my questions are

  1. Will a screen protector affect the sensitivity of the screen when I use the stylus to annotate/highlight?

  2. Should I get another model of the Kobo e-reader instead of the Sage?

I apologize if this post is all over the place, I feel really sad that I've spoilt my Kobo Sage in such a short amount of time, and fingers crossed I don't have to buy a new Kobo device every few months??

Any tips and suggestions will be appreciated!

p.s. I'm not really considering getting a Kindle but if you think I should consider getting one, just let me know!

Thank you very much in advance!!
