What type of knot could I tie to reduce the overall length of these macramé plant hangers by about 10 in. / 25 cm ? Want to elevate the plants a bit.

tie a piece of string around the whole bundle of ropes tightly, thrice around, then in between the different ropes, then around the bunch again twice and tied off with a bow. now attach the hook at this new level.
i would do it below the first group of knots above the second (from the top.)
