Hi guys! I’ve been working on making a “traditional style” Japanese Tanto for a few months. As I’ve been making it, I’ve learned more and more about Nihonto and how to use them. So I’ve decided to pull the trigger and buy one for learning/ practicing with, and to have something to compare my handmade one to. Getting an authentic Japanese one would be cool but all of the ones I can find are way out of my price range. At the same time when I do searches for newly made traditional tantos, all that I can find are Chinese made ones. I do not want to buy from China because I don’t trust their quality, I don’t like their business practices, and I would really like to support US made businesses. So, does anyone know of any US businesses/ makers that make Japanese tantos?
