Can anyone give me further info on this knife that I bought my wife for Christmas?

So, to start with, this thing was SUPER rusty: bought it at a pawn-shop and planned to clean it up before I presented it but, well, REAL-LIFE^(tm) got in the way and that didn't happen: it's after the end of Christmas and I decided to clean it for her now, and well: just look...

Yeah, I didn't know this was hiding under the rust...

Or this poem... It reads, (translated): \"I am made of well-tempered steel, both in battles of war and in adventures of love.\" Which, if you see the grind of the blade portion on this thing...? You'll likely press (X) just as hard as I do... (WAY off-balance, too far left on the top and right on the bottom, clearly mass-produced slop or AT LEAST \"apprentice work\" for the grinding.)

This is the other side again with the handle-and-makers-mark which says \"(Something) JAX MEXICO\" but I can't make-out the first word and if it was just \"Made in Mexico\" I know enough to know that would be \"Honcho En Mexico\" not \"(Something) **JAX** MEXICO\" so IDK what that means...

I would like to know some more about this unexpected treasure that I found beneath the layer of surface rust on this pawn-shop knife...
