what size yarn is this? and what size needle should i use with it for a beginner?

i’m new to knitting and i went to the shop and asked for help and what i need to start and the woman at the store gave me this yarn with 3.75mm metal needles but im really struggling.
I’ve read bamboo needles are better for beginners but unsure what size needles to get as this yarn is confusing me what size it is.
