Trying to learn magic loop and I feel like screaming

Post Body

I don't know if it's just me, or the yarn, or the pattern, or what. But I just can't seem to get the magic loop technique to work in my hands. Can anyone recommend any clear youtube tutorials, or maybe a set of still pictures, that clearly demonstrates the technique? I've watched so many but I'm a learn-by-doing person and I am getting so frustrated. I would love any and all advice.

Edit: Thank you for the replies! I think my main problem is that my cord is much too stiff and also too short. Back to the drawing board for me.
