I'm just starting out on my second cardigan project. Managed to knit up the The Dude's cardigan from the Big Lebowski as my first, and now working on one in moss stitch for my wife.
As I was shopping for wool on Etsy (local places don't stock anything other than acrylic) I saw SO many amazing and hand knitted items on Etsy! Especially from vintage patterns. All of them in pure wool, and a bunch with the lace trims also hand made. These items were generally in the £120-150 mark, and clearly worth every penny.
But I cannot for the the life of me make the maths add up. I'm not the worlds fastest knitter, but just in materials I spent nearly £100, so there's no way I could knit a jumper in 4 hours or less to make minimum wage. Is it actually just a case of "Here's a cool thing to knit! ... guess I could sell it to cover materials"?
Guess I'll have to keep a hobby and a day job lol.
