Binding off mid way through instruction with a selvedge edge. Do I count the edge stitches?

Post Body

My current pattern says BO6 at the start of the next two rows. Then BO 2 at the start of the next two rows.

However my first two and last two stitches are the selvedge edge (my first time doing that!). When I bind off those stitches do I include the selvedge edge or not? Like do I do my two edge stitches and then bind off 6? Or just bind off 6 including my edge?

Also, if I bind off my selvedge edge I think I'd have to restart it as there's still 50 something rows to go. I'm knitting a jumper and this is half way or so up the back, about where the sleeve will eventually stitch on. If that helps/makes a difference.
