Ive been following a double knit pattern for a scarf. However every now and again I get a thread of the wrong colour on the wrong side. Often where the pattern calls for a change of which stitches are knit or purl. So I end up with what looks like a carry. I'm sure that cant be right.
By way of attempting a better explanation: I'm using black and white. So the image should be white on the black side and black on the white side. I always start my row knit, purl. Then change the order where the pattern shows to do so. So if I'm making say a black stitch on the white side, I'll end up with the white thread across the stitch. I hope that makes sense because I feel I've just confused myself lol. I've tried changing positions of the wool before the stitch but that doesn't seem to help.
I've tried to upload a picture about a dozen times so hopefully this now works: https://imgur.com/a/kAr7fuJ
