Help! Wrapping twice with each stitch, and it's too tight to slide along the needle.

Post Body

I'm knitting a scarf on a 4.0 mm aluminum circular needle.

The pattern instructs to wrap twice for each stitch in every other row.

When I have to wrap twice, the loops are too tight and I have a really difficult time sliding onto the needle from the plastic cord.

Has anyone encountered this? Any tips/tricks that may help?

Thanks!
