So, a I made this for a girl that I was very close to for the past 4 years. She told me she was pregnant 2 two months ago, and since I knew very well of her obsession with The Little Mermaid, I showed her the pattern and she loved it, so of course I said I'd make it for her.

Now, I recently moved 1,200 miles away to be with my boyfriend, and I don't have the girl's address. I spent the last month trying to get a hold of her so I could send out her gift. Finally, Friday, she texts me back.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you. A lot of things have changed in my life recently and I no longer feel comfortable being close to someone involved with Wicca. You can go ahead and give that away to someone else.

I one short text, I lost someone who I considered one of my best friends and was basically told that my hand made object wasn't good enough for her baby just because of my religious beliefs.

So now I've got the pretty but useless baby thing hanging around my house as a very unhappy reminder of someone I once loved. I don't see myself having kids any time soon and honestly, mermaids aren't my thing, and as I just moved here, I literally only know 2 people in my area, both of which are dudes.
