Repost cause cussing is bad.
Seriously, how does anyone knit with this stuff?!
I just moved to a new state to live with my BF and he's been trying to help me get back into knitting. Yesterday, he found a yarn shop and took me there. It was quaint, not really what I was looking for, but I decided to pick up a skein of Noro yarn since I've heard of it often and seen some beautiful things made with it.
I decided to make a simple Brioche scarf. The label suggests using needle sizes US 8 - US 10 so I think "Great, my 9s are free" and I begin to cast on. 10 stitches in, my yarn breaks. Not like a snap; more like it just pulled apart.
I think "The f$$k? Maybe it's just cause it was the edge." And begin again. I manage to cast on my 18 stitches and begin my pattern. Two rows in, yarn breaks again. Fine, maybe these needles are just to small. I pull out my 10.5s and begin yet again. I'll add here that I'm not a tight knitter normally, and by now, I've reduced my tension to next to zero.
All seems to be going well, until about 20 rows in when, you guessed it, my yarn broke, yet again. What the actual f$$k?
I really wanted to finish this f$$$ing scarf because this was $20 yarn that my BF bought me, but as I've gone further into the skein, I found a knot. They tied a knot in the yarn, so the the color change isn't even smooth. In fact, it's down right jarring. I'm putting this into the bin of rejected project and cutting my losses.
Sorry. Just needed to vent. BF is being as sympathetic as he can be, but he just doesn't quite get the frustration I'm feeling.
