Seeking simple sock pattern for light weight cotton yarn

I'm pretty new to knitting, at least anything beyond simple knit/purl, but decided to try out knitting socks. I'm already working on another pair with a different type of (wool, superfine) yarn and I don't think the pattern will work with this other weight.
I'm looking for something without any cable knitting. Google has brought me a few results, but I'm nervous to jump blindly into anything that isn't made specifically for this yarn, so I figured I'd turn to humans.
