I’m planning on replacing all with legit copper tools, along with some fancy stone to knap, Open to thoughts and suggestions.
All the rock was collected locally in Nevada county, California. It’s fun looking for, learning, and experimenting with rock found along the rivers. In my search for good rock, I estimate 1% of the stone found locally is worth the trouble of trying to knap. Good thing there’s millions of rocks available! I would strongly recommend heading out to your local rivers and picking up some random rock if you haven’t tried already.
The points are from these first 6 months of knapping, materials include glass, slag, petrified wood, quartzite, basalt, slate and cheers. t’s been very encouraging seeing what’s possible from everyone here.
