Carb Vent Hose Question
Post Body

Hi all. I'd recently disconnected the carb lines to get at the jets for cleaning. It appears I misrouted the vent line and it was against the block resulting in what's depicted in the photo. One ride after I'd done the work went fine, but when I went to ride again, the bike would try hard but wouldn't start.

I missed seeing this on inspection. I decided to check valve clearances as this had been a problem before. The intake valves were indeed way tight, so I adjusted them and re-assembled. The bike now fires up fine.

My question is if the vent hose being almost melted shut (I can still blow a wee bit of air through it) would cause a hard start/no start condition. We're the valves being out of spec perhaps an incidental finding? Thanks!
