Got Scammed by The Clean Sweep Cleaning Services
Post Body

I don’t ever post on reddit, but had to do it to warn others. The Clean Sweep is a cleaning service in Kitchener. I used their moving cleaning services for $420. I confirmed everything on the phone and they shared that they’d send a confirmation email. Confirmation email never came. Despite this, they showed up the next day at the house close to 8am (the time we agreed). The service was between 4-5hrs so I walked them through the home and went to work while they cleaned. They finished around lunch time in which I came back to do a walk through and provide payment. The minute I stepped into the house there was a REALLY bad stench. A mix of cleaning products and bad odor. The second thing I noticed was the oily marks on the floor (looking worse than what I left them with). They walked me through the ‘cleaning’ they did and only showed me the areas I was adament about them cleaning (rangehood and parts of the washroom). They could tell I was clearly not happy. Despite this, I stupidely gave them the money for their ‘time’. Im not a confrontational person so I didn’t outrightly tell them that it was a bad job. But once we finished, I did a more thorough walk-through and I realized they did NOTHING. They wiped and cleaned some surfaces to give the facade that they did things. Luckily they were still outside waiting for their driver, so I took the opportunity to share that I was really unhappy with the service. They said they could do a better job, but after the first time - absolutely not. I told them i’d call there manager.

I called their manager, ‘Johnny’ immediately and complained. I sent him proof via email. He said he’d send cleaners the next day to rectify the situation. But again never sent an email confirmation when he said he would. I called about an hour later only to say ‘call failed’. I used my friends phone and the number went straight to voicemail. I knew immediatley that he blocked me. At this point I just waited to see if the cleaners would show up the next day. The next morning ‘Isaiah’ emailed me early in the morning saying ‘Kristin’ the cleaner was conveniently sick. So they offered services the day after in which I declined and asked for a full refund. Isaiah refused eventually stating that he had to escalate this matter to their owner ‘Karim M.’ At this point, I’ve already clued in these people were scammers despite how REAL their website and google reviews looked.

Crazy enough, the minute I mentioned Karim’s name to my husband he said it sounded familiar. And then it hit him. Karim M. made a google review for a cleaning service a few months back!! Then we noticed many of the cleaners names they mentioned SO HAPPENED to also have made google reviews for such ‘amazing service.’ I then realized how a lot of the reviews sounded the exact same!!!

Sooo to end this monologue…we were scammed for $420!! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES. They are not a legit company and it seems like many people are involved in this shadyy business. Im quite a gullible and naive person, so I was their perfect target. In hindsight, I did question a lot of what was happening but because I was in a rush, to go back to work, I didn’t think these things through properly.

Anyways if anyone knows how to report them so it doesn’t continue to happen to others please let me know!!

UPDATE: I was fortunately given a full refund by the service. Although I didn’t expect this to end this way as my intention was mainly to warn others, it was because of everyone’s support!!! So thank you so much. This probably would have never happened without many of you. Hopefully this company learned its lesson. I know I sure did!*

For 420$ what you expecting? A detailing of the house? I know some detailers charge 300$ for detailing a car and some does in 80$. You get what you pay for
