Chafing and ring size question

I have extreme chafing under the scrotum even after just a couple hours of use. I have a size 2 ring witch i can fit two fingers in fine and my ball cant escape unless i really try. So would a curved ring help with the chafing also would it be best to go a size down or stay the same size ring? Tia
