Ring size 0 is tight but size 1 is loose

Is there a way I could make the size 0 ring a little bit bigger? Perhaps sand it down? Could it be boiled and made slightly wider?
Or perhaps could a size 1 ring be made a little tighter?
I guess I could just use the 0 and get over the tightness, or maybe get a strap and use the 1. It’s just frustrating being between sizes.
