How can I keep this armour without being overweight?

I’m about 10 hours in, and have been killing bandits and doing other stuff around Rattay. I just got most of the mail garments available. I’m too scared to go into 1 V X combat without good armour, but i’m overweight with it. Perhaps i’m hoarding my other types of items? I have packmule 1 and should be close to getting packmule 2.
