Kindle Fire HDX 3rd Gen vs newer tablets, do they have a comparable product?

Have they not released another tablet since the HDX with as good a screen at all?

I have an old 7 inch HDX, and the screen is amazing. I checked out all their newer tablets- all the 7s have pretty poor screens, and even their 8 and 10 HD lines aren't on par with the 2013 release.

Anyone know if they released a 7 or 8 inch tablet with anywhere near as good a screen and an SD slot?

Honestly, if the HDX had an SD slot that could take a 256gb card, then it'd be the perfect tablet to me.

Their 7th gen and newer 8 HD line have the memory capabilities, but they're also heavier with worse screen resolution.

It seems crazy to me they'd make such a nice screen on a small tablet a decade ago, then downgrade since.
