Our 5yr old boy started kindergarten this year. He goes full days every Mon, Wed, and every other Friday. The daily schedule is morning recess, classroom, lunch time, afternoon recess, classroom, after school recess.
During the morning and afternoon recess when the bell rings he has been taught and told to line up against the wall to go inside. Instead of going to line up he will run off to keep playing on the playground equipment. It has gotten to the point where my wife, she walks him to school, has to chase him down to take him to line up.
For his history, he never went to pre school or daycare, my wife is a SAHM, so he never really got used to the structure of a school.
He is also being screened for ADHD.
Does anyone have any suggestions to help us teach him to line up properly? Our current idea that we have, and is suggested by his teacher, is that if he can't so it he won't get to play. My wife will walk him to the school and get there as the bell to line up rings and hand him off straight to the teacher.
