I wasn't trying to make myself more "legitimate", some things just don't have the right tone in other languages. I've no need to try to ligitimise myself to you or anyone else hahaha. Where you've got the idea I'm gatekeeping the use of Scots is anyone's guess. Use whatever language you want. However I'll refer to your comment where you've called it childish to use Scots to better express yourself.
Coming from the guy that failed at wearing a kilt. You're in a skirt with pockets. I bet it's the envy of many a lass. So try calling out someone else's authenticity when you can wear an authentic kilt.
Interesting to hear from someone that speaking in the Scots language, my mother tongue, is childish or pathetic. Especially whilst they're trying to school me on the dress and culture. Equally amusing is the hypocrisy of saying it's "nice to be nice" whilst actively offering insult.
Hahaha Justify it tae yersel howe'er ya like but yer bums oot the windae
Whilst it's great to see people embrace kilts, it needs to be said that kilts don't have pockets.
A feileadh mor or belted plaid isn't a kilt. It's inspired the modern kilt but it's quite distinctly different. There's a fair bit of history and tradition, including military ones, attached to modern kilts and how they're worn. Adding cargo short style pockets to replace the sporran makes it a distinctly different garment. I'm not saying it's not similar or linked or that you shouldn't wear whatever makes you happy, but it's not really a kilt.
