Would appreciate hearing about aftermarket tires from AWD Sportage owners who drive over mt. passes in the winter and/or get a few snowy/icy days per year.
For context, I’m on the west coast where it’s generally pretty mild weather and the stock tires are fine for my city/suburb driving. However, this year I’d like to drive from Seattle to Sun Valley (and back ;-) in late December and feel the stock tires are questionable. Normally I’d say they’d be horrible for snow/ice but I’ve been impressed with the AWD so far and I’ve deliberately tried to get them to slip on wet leaves in a parking lot and the traction was 8/10 (though I never drove over 30mph). What aftermarket tires do you run for winter that you’d recommend?
