Are the 2014-2016 Optima Hybrids good cars? compareable to toyotas?

I'm tall (6'6"), so my vehicle selection is quite limited, especially needing to fit in the passenger seat and still have room in back seat for kids/carseat etc.
I'm starting to shop for a new to me vehicle and am hoping to get a hybrid. 2014-2016 Optimas are hitting my sweet spot in pricing $15-18k. how reliable are they? any major issues i should be aware of? My other choice is looking like a similar year toyota avalon but they're a bit more expensive
